Poland coach Adam Nowalka considers Robert Lewandowski “the best striker in the world,” and the man has a point. The Bayern Munich superstar scored 29 Bundesliga goals this past season—14 more than his closest competitor—and added 10 more tallies in non-league matches. The 29-year-old Warsaw native also scored 16 goals in 10 qualifying matches and arrives in Russia with a chance to establish himself as his country’s best-ever player. His supporting cast does not feature any big names but the team does possess a balance of youth and experience and no glaring weaknesses. Tenth-ranked Poland is a smart pick to make some noise in this competition.
