The Beautiful Off-Roading of the Silk Way Rally

The extreme racing competition crosses the rugged terrains of Russia.

Seven days and more than 1,800 miles of twists, turns, mud, and dust define the route of the Silk Way Rally, an off-road racing competition that takes drivers from the historic Russian city of Astrakhan to Moscow's Red Square. The weeklong trek — which goes until July 27 — offers extreme challenges for the drivers and gorgeous views for those watching.
