Nun Tosses a Perfect First Pitch Before White Sox Game

Sister Mary Jo Sobieck steals the show in Chicago.

The best pitchers in baseball can make big pitches in big situations. Go ahead and add Sister Mary Jo Sobieck to the list. During Saturday's Marian Catholic High School night at Guaranteed Rate Field, the Chicago-area nun became the talk of baseball with her divine delivery of the ceremonial first pitch before the White Sox took on the Royals.

Sister Mary Jo came to play. The one-time softball player even showed off a slick arm-bounce trick before hurling her perfect strike to White Sox pitcher Lucas Giolito.

“That was awesome,” Giolito later told MLB.com. “She had a whole routine. She had it planned out. I was just lucky to be back there. She threw a perfect pitch.”
