Multiple fatalities and injuries have been reported in the northern Italian city of Genoa after a section of a highway bridge collapsed on Tuesday. Authorities claim a violent storm caused the collapse of the Morandi Bridge, which crosses over several roads, homes, and shopping centers, as well as the Polcevera river. The tragedy comes just a day before a major Italian holiday called Ferragosto, which would have amounted to heavier traffic than a typical weekday afternoon. Here, a first look at the devastation.ANDREA LEONI/AFP/Getty Images ANDREA LEONI/AFP/Getty Images
