John McCain's Church Memorial, in Photos

Joe Biden and other friends of the late Arizona senator gather to pay their respects at North Phoenix Baptist Church.

U.S. Senator John McCain, who died last Saturday, was honored by his family and friends (including former Vice President Joe Biden) at North Phoenix Baptist Church in Arizona on Thursday. Memorial services for the late war hero began Wednesday with an emotional ceremony at the Arizona State Capitol. Following Thursday’s church service, his body will be flown to Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, and on Friday he will lie in state at the U.S. Capitol. McCain will then be eulogized at Washington National Cathedral by former presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush on Saturday, and Sunday, he will be laid to rest at the U.S. Naval Academy Cemetery in Annapolis. Here, photos from the second day of services.
