Residents are evacuating as firefighters work to control the flames.

Two are dead and thousands have been ordered to evacuate as the Carr Fire rages in Redding, California. The blaze, which started Monday and has spread some 28,000 acres, has claimed the lives of a Redding firefighter and a contract firefighter, according to the San Francisco Chronicle, with numerous other injuries reported.
