'Beast from the East' Hits the UK

Gun Debate Runs Around in Circles

President Trump doubled down on statements about the armed officer who stayed outside Stoneman Douglas High School during this month's shooting, calling the officer a "coward" and suggesting that he himself would have run into the school and taken action. Trump has voiced several solutions to the nation's ongoing gun control debate, including arming teachers and stronger background checks, but has offered little clarity.


Holi Gets Colorful

Students in Kolkata continued Holi celebrations on Monday. The popular Hindu spring festival of colors is observed in India at the end of the winter season and will be officially marked on March 1 this year.


North Korea Linked to Syrian Attacks

A report released by United Nations experts has connected North Korea to Syria's chemical weapons program. The document also highlights the dangers in such a trade, which would supply Syria with chemical weapons while also potentially funding North Korea's nuclear program.

A memorial service was held at the National September 11 Memorial in New York City to mark the 25th anniversary of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing that left six people dead and more than 1,000 injured.
