Hundreds of druids, pagans and revelers gathered overnight and into the morning of June 21 at Avebury stone circle and Stonehenge in the UK to witness one of most important sunrises of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, marking the arrival of Summer. Avebury henge monument is one of the best known prehistoric sites in Britain. Constructed in the third millennium B.C., it contains the largest megalithic stone circle in the world.
