The dance is over for Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum. The couple, who met on the set of the 2006 movie "Step Up" and married in 2009, announced on April 2 that they would be separating.

"We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple," read a statement posted to Channing's Instagram account and signed jointly by the couple. "We fell deeply in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together. Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now."

Over the course of their nearly nine-year marriage, the couple cultivated a reputation as an outgoing, fun-loving pair. Look back at their best moments.

As Jenna tells it, she initially rebuffed Channing's advances since he'd just gotten out of another relationship. But his charms, eventually, won out. "He went out partying with a bunch of dancers," Jenna recalled to Cosmopolitan. "His room was right above mine, and he came down drunk with a sombrero on, banging on my door. He was like, 'I couldn't stop thinking about you. Let's do this. I just want to be with you.' From that point forward, we were together." "They're like little mirrors running around. They show you things about yourself you wouldn't pay attention to before." "We are still a family and will always be loving dedicated parents to Everly. We won't be commenting beyond this, and we thank you all in advance for respecting our family's privacy. Sending lots of love to everyone."
